Luna Li on Tour
Celestial, ethereal, psychedelic -- pick one and you have a window into the one-woman show by talented multi-instrumentalist and singer, Luna Li.
Luna Li makes music that crosses genres, infusing pop, rock, and R&B with her classical roots. During her shows, she often performs solo, playing the guitar or violin along with looping devices. At the same time, while many of her songs are written, played and recorded by herself, she doesn't shy away from collaborating with other musicians, including touring and performing with Japanese Breakfast and Beabadoobee.
On her 2022 debut album, Duality, Luna Li also collaborated with several female artists. Jay Som appears in "Boring Again," Dreamer Insomnia in "Flower (In Full Bloom)," and Beabadoobee in "Silver Into Rain." Working in the Toronto scene as a young adult, she noticed that there weren't many women performing in concerts and onstage. As an artist, she values representing, working with, and giving a voice to women, especially women of color, front and center.
Whether playing solo or with another artist, Luna Li's concerts are mystical -- the perfect blend of escapism and sensory awakening, all with her gorgeous arrangements and light touch.
Luna Li Live in Concert
Luna Li is a Korean-Canadian singer, songwriter and multi-instrumentalist who plays piano, violin, harp, electric guitar, bass, and drums. Her real name is Hannah Bussiere Kim. She chose the artist name Luna Li in part because of her affinity for the moon, which she describes as having a powerful, feminine energy. More generally, she feels a connection to nature, drawing inspiration from it in her music.
Luna Li started singing as soon as she could talk and asked to play piano at 5 years old. As a teenager, she continued her classical training, but started hanging out in the garage rock youth scene. Finally, after studying violin at McGill University in Montreal for a semester, she dropped out to play rock music.
Some of her inspirations are Moses Sumney, Solange, Tame Impala, Mild High Club, Japanese Breakfast, and Melody's Echo Chamber.
In 2022, she released her debut album Duality. For her, the title is autobiographical. Luna Li's identity is made up of dualities: Korean and Canadian, classical music and alternative. She occupies the in-between spaces, and with that comes both belonging in two spaces and, sometimes, not quite belonging in either. Perhaps in part because of that, she wants her audience to feel accepted no matter who they are.
Before releasing her album, she released an extended play, Opal Angel (2017), as well as the singles "Cherry Pit," "Alone But Not Lonely" and "Flower (In Full Bloom)."

My first concert and I loved seeing her, she had a really fun opener and the overall show was an amazing experience
She was amazing, the entire band is so good. I really enjoyed the performance!after this show I tried to buy tickets to other California shows but they were all sold out already, goes to show.. it’s good!!! ??????? cant wait for the next show!!
Got in smoothly , hit up the merch booth. Her sister ( I believe ) helped me out and I got two signed vinyl and a soft comfy hoodie. Danced and sang throughout the show. Then I got to meet the legend her self. Took a wonderful photo . Great experience.
Luna li and her band were absolutely amazing. Saw her at the Doug Fir in Portland, OR on 10/12/22 and was blown away. Felt like that scene in Wayne’s world at gas works. I swear she was glowing.
