LORENZO DE MONTECLARO IN CONCERT:
The secret to Lorenzo de Monteclaro's successful 55-year career is laid bare at his can't miss-concerts, which treat ticket buyers to the spectacular showmanship that has made him a star. With an astonishing 100 studio albums to his name, Monteclaro has an enormous wealth of material to draw from, including his signature songs "El Ausente" and "La Persica". On stage he's as compelling as ever, using his magnetic charm to get concertgoers singing and dancing along with him as he belts out anecdotal tunes about love, heartbreak, country life, and keeping faith in the face of hardship. With an onstage charisma that never falters, Monteclaro continues to stun crowds, delivering unforgettable shows year after year.
BACKGROUND SNAPSHOT:
Lorenzo de Monteclaro was born in Cuencame, a small city in northern Mexico. In his teenage years he began developing his rich tenor voice by mimicking the singers he heard on the radio. At age 18, he snuck away from his parents' house and trekked to Torreón to participate in an amateur singing competition, marking his first-ever radio performance. Monteclaro's expressive voice captured record labels' attention, and before long his first recording "El Caminante" was a hit on the Latin music airwaves. His unique take on norte?o -- a Mexican style of music that employs heavy use of accordions and 12-string guitars called bajo sextos -- breathed new life into traditional northern music, earning him a devoted fanbase. By the early '60s his acting career was also taking off as he dazzled audiences with star-making turns in ranchera films like the 1965's "Tierra Sangrients". He has since acted in over 40 films, but music remains his first love. In 2014 Monteclaro celebrated his 55th career anniversary, marking the impressive milestone with his 100th studio album "Aqui Estoy Mi Disco 100" and a string of tour dates that knocked concertgoers' socks off.
