Lillian Axe Tickets

This is actually a preview of the upcoming show scheduled at club Fire in Jackson Ms. on Apr. 9th. I've seen this band countless times beginning around 1987 with their original lineup. That lineup is going to play again at this show under the name "Circle of Light" and from what I understand they are going to play songs from that era that haven't been heard since those days. Also around 1987 Lillian Axe changed their lineup a bit and their sound went from a more thrashed based one to a more commercial one and they became one of the south's biggest acts. Since then times and lineups have changed but they are still a great band and this show will be one of the firsts to feature a new singer whom I haven't yet heard but must be good to be able to perform their decades of material. To those of us who were lucky enough to be around in the days of "The Creek" it's obvious that this show will be HISTORIC.

First I was disappointed that this was not the original lineup, but a "Reincarnation" as the lead singer put it. Then I became even more disappointed as they butchered the original Lillian Axe songs in an effort to be current and sound like a thrash/punk bad. I left after 15 minutes. B.B.King's sound system is lousy too.
