Fascinating performance. I had seen similar performances on America Got Talent and it was neat to see one in person.
I was hoping for a little more diversity with the costumes which, on the other hand, were outstanding. The storyline had little to do with Christmas and I guess I was expecting something more like Mummenschanz with different short skits instead of a long laborious story. The kids in the theater seemed to enjoy the show, the initial acts were wonderful but it got old fairly quickly.
Cute story, cool effects and a fun time. Nice to see the behind the scene of how it works.
I enjoyed the couple of funny moments when old school rap/hip hop snuck into the show. The performers are talented and I’m sure they were working hard. However, the storyline was depressing for far too long. Bird parents mourning their lost baby on Christmas Eve, a rat king about to cut off the baby bird’s head so it will fit in the cage, rat king stabbed through with a sword. Gee—happy holidays to my 6 year old sitting next to me, as well as anyone in the audience who has lost a child. The light effects were ok, but, having spent 350 dollars for 3 tickets for a one hour show, I didn’t need to have it explained at the end that it’s all made out of old sports shin guards and helmets. Finally, no one else in the country is going to be happy to keep seeing your New Orleans Saints Logo on top of the Christmas tree and elsewhere. Wrong time, wrong place.
Very entertaining! Kept my eight year olds attention through the entire show!! Loved every minute!!
The concept of light costumes is so entertaining and engaging....costumes and scenery were a win. The story line was a little odd and disconnected....odd music choices, story that was a mish-mosh of Nutcracker Suite and a bird family from New Orleans (?) that lose the baby on their way south for winter. They land in the North Pole (twice you hear ho ho ho's but never see a Santa nor is he included in the story). Some mice steal some Christmas items to impress the mouse king (???) who acts like the Godfather. Again, big disconnect. The music was mostly Christmas themed but also had some tropical, St, Louis songs. All in all, the kids liked it because they were too young (2 & 5) to follow the plot and the music and lights were entertaining. The actors were great...just wished the story was better.
So good! The kids loved it! The story was so easy to follow and everyone did so good!
The title says it all. Unique experience and a wholesome story.
We've seen the Lightwire Christmas show in the past and it was just as spectacular Saturday night as the first time we saw it. It is such a unique and innovative idea, our kids were in awe of the light up costumes and the adults in our group loved the kid friendly, warm story line. Keep up the incredible work, we couldn't have loved the show more. Although, in the future it would be nice if it were an afternoon show instead of at 7:30 pm (our littlest one fell asleep as it was past his bedtime). Merry Christmas Lightwire Theater, thanks for making our Christmas special this year!!
