Saw K&D over 20 years ago and it was amazing.. looking forward to seeing them again!
Our crew was super excited to see the Iconic duo. The sound at the summit was actually pretty good for this DJ set. The music set was just OK. The marketing for the show included verbiage and video of a corresponding light show for the event. That never happened. It was the most dull stage set up I’ve ever seen with no light show just black pipe and drapery + stage lighting. Pretty boring.
Loved the music, loved the light show, and even tolerated the bar tender in Sony Hall
SO sick. This was their first west coast appearance ever.
Great show, good energy. Danced till my legs hurt!
I would have awarded K & D the full 5 stars if I would have heard more tracks like the origionals. The light show was spectacular. Every song was great. I was anticipating some of the older stuff and was a little disappointed to not hear it. I have tried to catch K & D in concert for many years. This was my first time seeing them.
I've loved these guys for years, singularly and together, but this concert was a complete letdown. I saw RD with Tosca here in LA and they rocked. These two together was a night of Ambien. There were only about 3 upbeat, danceable songs. K & D stood up in a makeshift DJ booth, barely moving. My brother and I joked that they looked like they were checking their email. Totally boring. Most of the music was obviously pre-recorded with no "remix" at all. They had a couple of guys come out and get the crowd going, singing during the upbeat songs, but other than that, boring. And the encore!! A slow ass remaking of the Beatles "Let it Be", but inserting K & D..."Let it be, K&D..." Absolute downer!!!!
I've been awaiting the moment to see k&d for over 10 years. I honestly would have to say thatthere has been a de evolution in their music. And the sing along we the audience were forced to do was just a massive disrespect to jon lennon, the song was "let it be." They had the words on the screen s with the mc's out there " K&D, K&D 16 YEARS OF WISDOM K&D." The dance tracks they played were pretty good, but once again totally ruined by the bald mc. The start of the show was great! And their visuals were also very good. All in all, if you had never head of them you will probably love it. BUT! If you've heard the album "THE K&D SESSIONS" you'll understand when I say their music has gone through A stage of de evolution.
I love Kruder and Dorfmeister. I have for over a decade and had the pleasure of seeing them at Coachella in 2001. Their musical skill and the accompanying visual set by Fritz were incredible. One of the main reasons I can't give them 5 stars is their choice of songs for the concert at Nokia. They only played a handful of the DJ Kicks, K & D Presents, Conversions, and other classics I have loved over the years. What's worse, after ending on a magical encore of Speechless, they really lost that fifth star by playing a campy cover of John Lennon's "Let It Be," substituting the words "K & D" for the title. Great pun fellas. What a load of self-indulgent crap. It was so anti-climactic and unoriginal after Speechless I wanted to wretch. If not for that ending I may have been inclined to go with the 5th star, but that ending left a very sour taste in my mouth. Stick to your talents, gentlemen.
great visuals, great sound and good songs. I enjoyed the show.
