We didn't enjoy this show as much as much as our previous few seeing Joe. Yes, it was classic Joe with all his guitar wizardry and a solid backup band---the backup singers in particular were great. However, first, the sound was muddled and unbalanced. Certain instruments totally overwhelmed others. You could tell there was bass somewhere in that mess, just couldn't hear the exact notes. Perhaps it was the venue or our seats, which is unfortunate because we shelled out big bucks for third row loge. Also, we felt the show was too short: about 1:45 with no intermission.
This concert's decibel level was off the charts, way too high. Vocals were unintelligible, music was simply blaring to the point where you couldn't decipher individual instruments. Just one big blast of horns, bass guitars, drums etc. Either the acoustics of this venue is way off, or the speakers were simply amped up way too high, which I think was the case. This concert was highly anticipated because I'm a big fan of the Blues but this was a major disappointment.
I have been a big fan of Joe Bonamassa for a number of years. I have attended his concerts and many different venues. I like the old theaters like the Palace Theater in Albany. The acoustics are phenomenal and then there's the band. Joe Bonamassa is a phenomenal talent and so are all the members of his band. It was definitely a magical night.
I thought the show was good but not great. Their tour was coming to an end and it felt like they were just going through the motions. Tired, I guess. Not crazy about the set list. The crowd only stood up once to applaud a song. Not a fan of the venue - Hampton Casino Ballroom . Floor is flat and views are easily obstructed by tall people. People walking back and forth to buy beer, etc during the whole show.
Just when you think you've seen his best, he tops it.
Great venue, great staff. All around a great time. Will definitely go again !!!
Joe Bonamassa is an amazing talented musician...sound and venue was fabulous. I w as lucky to see the final show of his tour in the place he started 34 years ago!
First time being to the Hampton Beach Casino ballroom and really liked it. It is a smaller venue which I can appreciate. The seating was spread out enough so my knees weren’t crammed into the seat in front of me. Getting into the venue and exiting was very easy and not overly congested. Joe Bonamassa rocked it as usual
Another great show. I was however, a little disappointed because it seamed like the bass guitar and bass drum drowned out Joes guitar, the singers and the brass. Sound guy wasn't on top of his game for sure.
