The venue was really nice at Ludlow Garage, but holy wow! Howie Day was so much better than I expected. I knew he was talented and loved his music, but seeing him live was absolutely amazing!
As per usual, an amazing solo performance. Expected nothing less.

Howie Day is amazing. He made all the complexities of the work he was doing on stage look so simple. His one man band styling and flow was superb. If you were just listening without seeing, you'd have no idea that all the sound came from a single person. His showmanship and interaction with the audience after the show displays how humble he is. Truly something to experience.
I was pleasantly surprised at this show. There was communication with the audience about the songs and some of the background/details that inspired the songs. Although he had just performed and was weary from the travels over the last few days, Howie did a meet an greet afterwards! He gave a personalized video greeting to my wife who was so looking forward to the concert, but wound up sick. Loved the show! And he seemed like such a nice person! Thank you!
Went to see Howie at The City Winery in NYC, didn't know many of his songs but friends raved about him so off I went! The guy is AMAZING - Edward Sheeran who? Howie Day vocals are impeccable, he hits every note and a lot of them are big ones! His songs are melodic and and poetic mixed with longing, love and range. The thing that blew me away about Howie is he is a 1 man band. He works with his own guitar and records sounds from his guitar and voice right then and there to make a complete symphony out of a song. My friend who has never heard of him was also blown away amazed that someone who she knew nothing of could knock her socks off. You go Howie!
Howie was awesome! He played the longest that I have ever seen him!!!
I saw Howie Day at The Hamilton in DC in May 2014. I really enjoy listening to his music on my own, but live, it was another story. He did not seem to interact well with the crowd; he seemed disinterested to me and annoyed at times with people. He did a lot of instrumental stuff at the beginning or end of songs, but everything was just so slow and lost my attention. Don't get me wrong - he is an amazing musician, and it would have been fine if it were just not slow song after slow song. And, he could at least give the impression he was not annoyed with the crowd who had paid good money to see him. I left early.
Great show in a nice little venue. Howie's guitar work is well documented and was on full display, but his voice was the most impressive. It was strong and sounded great! He seemed to enjoy the crowd's reaction all night. Shane Piasecki was a great opening act too!
Intimate venue with cheap drinks and great acoustics. Fantastic show performed by both Howie Day and Shane Piasecki. Unforgettable.
