The orchestra played the movie score beautifully. However, the movie sound could have been better, and really, the screen could have been bigger. It felt more like a school setting for movie day. The biggest complaint I had though was the fact that people are packed into narrow seats and crammed in like sardines (and I'm thin). There was nowhere to set drinks or snacks and it just felt claustrophobic. I honestly felt that my experience of seeing this movie in the theatres far outweighed seeing it at ASO. It feels like it's time for an upgrade to the accommodations. It's not like these shows are cheap. My ticket was $110, my drinks/snacks came to $50. I can pay 1/3 of that to enjoy a movie in a movie theater with a comfortable seat, better sound and space for my drinks and snacks.
This series has been excellent. This score is one of the best modern scores. The ASO executed it faithfully and wonderfully
I've been waiting to see this type of show for a very long time. To be able to be apart of something so unique and amazing was mind blowing. My friend and I had an amazing time and we've officially been too spoiled now to be able to watch this movie the same ever again. Hope we can experience the other movie's like this as well.
For most of us that attended the event, we have a special bond to the film. The story of How To Train Your Dragon has deep meaning to us, but the music is as much a part of that magic as the story and the art. The ASO's performance was a great honor to the film - and to us fans.
An absolutely amazing experience that left me without words!
The orchestra was incredible! I’m not exaggerating when I say I literally got chills(and almost cried!) I grew up watching How to Train Your Dragon, and listening to the orchestra play alongside it was absolutely breathtaking! I cannot wait for the orchestra to come play again!
