La Boheme is my favorite opera, so we had tickets to attend at the Waikiki Shell last week. It was not a memorable experience. Nothing bad happened, but the Shell is a difficult venue for opera, which needs great acoustics, careful lighting and drama. The entire set was in the middle of the stage, so we had to crane our necks all night to see it. It rained during part of the evening -- again not the fault of the venue. The voices were fine, but not amazing. I think it was a case of too high expectations.
the music is ok. I love to watch the percussionists and you can not see them from row H. You need a raked stage. Why cant the concert be on the radio 89.3 FM. ?
We loved this Opera. It was great. We loved the Secret Garden story. We also loved the projected scenery that came along side of the walls. It was very magical. Thank you so much for the experience!!
I love the show. The singers were wonderful. I enjoyed it 100%.
A spectacular show. I have been thinking of it over and over. Hawaii Opera Theatre productions are ALWAYS worth attending!
It was great! Amazing decoration, wonderful voices!
I wish I had known about their first concert last year because I would have loved to have seen them then and will like to see them again when they come back.
I saw Sol3 Mio last year. Their first concert was amazing, entertaining and magnificent! This year they topped last year. The musical selections, the guys' audience connection and the pure quality of their voices, made for the best concert EVER!!! Even my friends were astounded!!!
These 3 guys were unbelievable singing the traditional opera stuff to much more modern songs. Their voices are simply beautiful!!!
