One of the best experiences ever!
by L. N. on 9/28/21What a cast! Such energy in the room, incredible performances that left me absolutely certain that we’ll be back!
For nearly a decade, HAMILTON at New York’s Richard Rodgers Theatre, with its innovative mix of history and hip-hop, has remained “The Room Where It Happens” on Broadway. The groundbreaking Lin-Manuel Miranda production, based on Ron Chernow’s 2004 biography of founding father Alexander Hamilton, has gripped theatergoers since its 2015 debut. Immediately hailed as another milestone achievement by Miranda, who previously won a Tony Award and a Grammy for his first musical, In The Heights, HAMILTON became the most-nominated production in Tony Awards’ history and won 11 of its 16 contests, the second-largest haul in the ceremony's history. Among many other accolades, the musical earned a Pulitzer Prize in Drama, two Emmys for the stage film released on Disney+ in 2020, and a Grammy for the 2015 original Broadway cast recording, which peaked at No. 2 on the Billboard 200 chart and became the first Broadway cast album to reach Diamond certification by the RIAA in 2023. While it certainly made Lin-Manuel Miranda as much of a household name as the man behind his titular role, HAMILTON also launched the careers of his castmates, including Leslie Odom, Jr. as Aaron Burr, Phillipa Soo as Eliza Hamilton, Renée Elise Goldsberry as Angelica Schuyler, Daveed Diggs as Marquis de Lafayette/Thomas Jefferson and Anthony Ramos as John Laurens/Philip Hamilton.

What a cast! Such energy in the room, incredible performances that left me absolutely certain that we’ll be back!
After seeing Hamilton on the big screen and knowing the album by heart, who thought anything could beat the original cast... BUT, the performance given last night was truly AMAZING... they outdid themselves!! Absolutely loved Miguel Cervantes as Alexander Hamilton and Jin Ha as Aaron Burr... Wow!! But I also have to say Tamar Greene playing George Washington and Euan Morton as King George were phenomenal. Mandy Gonzalez as Angelica, what a voice on her... but the list goes on. A must see if you haven't already. You truly will not be disappointed!
It was riveting immediately. My boyfriend had never seen a Broadway show and absolutely loved it! He’s been listening to the soundtrack ever since!
Cannot say enough positive things! Setting was perfect, seats perfect. Only criticism was the cattle car experience of cramming folks into the bar/lobby with nowhere to go.
Took train to NYC Checked into hotel Walked around the city At 4:30 saw allBroadway shows cancelled due to coronavirus. Total bummer for me but I can’t stop thinking about all those in the service and entertainment industry whose lives are REALLY affected.
This was a great show! My son enjoyed and now I can see why he was begging me to take him. Everyone should see this awesome show and great talent!
THE BEST SHOW EVER!! The Music was phenomenal, the cast was phenomenal, the talent was out of this world!! Would watch it again in a heartbeat!!!
One of the best shows I have ever seen. The songs and acting fantastic. Would see it again and again.
An amazing production. The hype is worth the experience. The show left you wanting more.
Our family had a wonderful night. The performance was even more outstanding than we imagined. We wish all of NYC and Broadway good health and a speedy return.
We took our daughter for her 13 birthday. My husband and I didnt think this play would be to our liking, but, we wanted our last little baby to enjoy her day. Much to my surprise, I LOVE it. It was funny, emotional and high energy. It's not just a "history rap" play. It's a must see!!
Hamilton is the best Broadway musical I’ve watched. My son and I loved the powerful Act I and poignant Act II. We fortunately watched it two days before the curtain closed due to COVID-19.
Exhilarating, energetic, awesome. Still singing the songs two weeks later!
truly no words can describe the way i felt in this theatre. the only thing i would say is to sell hamilton cups with the option of regular drinks for people who can’t or choose not to consume alcoholic drinks.
Should state if seats are partial view of entire stage. I'm tall and was in the last tow of central orchestra and had to duck down entire show to get better view. Had sore neck for entire night.
Hamilton was amazing. Ryan Vasquez was incredible as the lead. The whole cast was great. Theater is nice and small with very good seats.
This is the third time I have seen Hamilton, but the first on Broadway. The entire cast is amazing...Miguel Cervantes brings such energy, passion, and life to A. Ham! Go see it. Just go.
There has been a lot of hype around Hamilton for years- and it's all worth it. I have been able to see this show twice- and both experiences were mind blowing. Every actor is beyond amazing. You can get lost watching the ensemble in the background- the choreography throughout is stunning. The theatre is small. Use the bathroom before the show. Try to skip it at intermission if you can. Seats are small and close together- I am 5'2" so this isn't a big deal to me, but taller/larger people may not be comfortable (go anyway- it's worth it).
Easy ticket experience using mobile tickets. WONDERFUL show!! Long bathroom lines so use restroom before the show. Due to the corona virus, the actors didn’t come out of the stage door!
Cannot rate this musical any higher! Best thing on Broadway ever!! Worth every dime I paid for seats!!
