Golden State Warriors History
Founded in 1946, the Warriors called the city of Philadelphia home for 16 memorable years before moving to the West Coast in 1962 to become the San Francisco Warriors. In 1971, the Golden State Warriors were born when the team moved across the Bay to Oakland.
The team's storied history includes seven NBA Championships, an NBA-record 73 wins during the 2015–16 season, eight players named to the NBA's 75th Anniversary Team and 31 members inducted into the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame.?
The Golden State Warriors also have the distinction of having the third most NBA Championships to their name (seven), and the third-most appearances in the NBA Finals (10). The only teams that have more are the Los Angeles Lakers and the Boston Celtics. The current team is led by two-time league MVP Stephen Curry, who won the Clutch Player of the Year Award in 2024, and eight-time All-NBA Defensive selection Draymond Green. Very nice seats and affordable . Quite an experience to see the players do their thing on the court.
Very nice experience! It was my first time in US and in a basketball show, I’m really impressed. The only negative thing is that I couldn’t take tickets before my trip to US, seems like it is denied when you’re out of US
It was really cool to experience a good game. The seats were phenomenal, especially at an affordable price. The ushers were really nice and helped us find what we needed.
As a tourist coming over from England this was an incredible insight to American sport. I’m not an out and out basketball fan but the atmosphere was class. Staff and supporters were so welcoming and I’m so glad I did it.
This is experience was fun. The nachos were good too.. I have really good seats.
All the experience was awesome, the employees super nice and helpful everywhere.
What a terrible experience going to this event concessions fiasco was absurd at 1 point I counted 66 people in line waiting for food will never go again.
Chase center is a great venue, at least the lower seats. The upper ones are SO STEEP, it feels like you could very easily topple over and fall down a bunch of rows. It's seriously cramped and scary. The lower levels are great! We sat in section 110, row 22 for a Warriors game. The seats are comfortable, view is decent (except for a slight blind spot from the backboard). Food options are plentiful and on par price-wise with other entertainment venues ($22 for pulled pork nachos, $14 for a hot link). Good variety of beers, which will set you back $20 for a tallboy. Bathrooms are plentiful and clean (they have an attendant in each one who keeps things very clean and tidy - it's great). Ticket prices are insane. It was over $1000 for 4 of us to attend a Warriors game.
I grew up in SF, but haven't seen a game in the Chase Center. So we made the trip from PA to see the Warriors vs Chicago, and San Antonio. It was an easy walk from our hotel (near Oracle Park). Loved the new arena, everything about it. Our arenas in Philly and DC are about 30 years old now, much better than what they used to have, but both teams looking to upgrade soon. We sat in the 200 for the first game, a bit farther up than I'd like. Sat in the 100 level for Spurs game (no Wemby) which was a much better seat and view. 107 even won the Filipino Heritage Night shirts. Too bad the good guys lost both games, but wanted to see the Curry, Thompson, Green, Kerr group without putting it off any longer. It was a great experience, that we hope to repeat again soon.
Two friends bought popcorn, over $15 each, and they tasted like they were leftover from the last game. Super salty and stale. Two different friends bought nachos, the chips were stale and bland. My $18 (!) margarita was a strong flavor or marg mix. It was a disappointing spend on food!
