Great game !very exciting and great seats and environment
It’s always a great time going to college basketball games, especially in a smaller venue like GW’s arena. The atmosphere was electric for this fun and intense game. I was seated in row R on almost the half court line of the side opposite of the players benches. These seats were relatively high up for the arena, and the only real ‘complaint’ I have is that your view space is limited compared to others. In other words, I saw more concrete wall/ceiling than I would of liked, but it wasn’t as bad as it sounds. With that being said, this was my first time at the arena and the tickets were extremely fair priced, my family had a blast, and I’ll definitely be back for another game.
The second row of the second section back was right on the aisle so whenever anyone walked by or stopped to chat with people in the row in front of us, the game was blocked. I wish the seats had said that when I bought them - I would have purchased a higher row. The game was fantastic, but the seats weren't.
Ease of purchased tickets online. Tickets scanner needs upgrades. The Referees called a fair game. I would attend another game between SWAC and GW.
Game was great. Enjoyable halftime entertainment. The concession stands are limited and the line is long and slow.
The game was fine, but the guys behind us were doing the brah thing, objectifying the female cheerleaders, and every other word out of their mouths began with the letter F. This with a little girl and her grandmother in front of us. But the worst was the concessions. I had season tickets a few years ago and nothing has changed. To get a popcorn downstairs can take 45 minutes, and this in a 2-hour game. GW needs to get creative. If the physical space downstairs is too small, how about hawkers walking the aisles, like at a baseball game? They need to relieve the pressure and shorten the wraparound lines.
The concession stands at the basketball arena at The George Washington University were not equipped to handle a large or even close to sold out crowd. They even ran out of items at the concession stand. I will say that it is a unique college basketball environment that should allow people to either bring their own coolers and packed lunches.
The Smith Center is a nice intimate building to watch a game. Well lit, easy to navigate, and small. No bad seats in the house! That said, the concessions setup is horribly inadequate for a Division 1 school. They have two small counters in the basement that had lines running the length of the building quite literately the entire game. We arrived about 30 minutes before tipoff of a 1230 Saturday afternoon game. We waited in line for 25 minutes then bailed to watch the start of the game. We made 3 more attempts throughout the game but the line never got any shorter. I had 3 hungry boys to feed. We had to wait until after the game to eat elsewhere. Probably my 10th visit to that arena and I was hoping theyd have figured it out by now. Not that day.
The guide staff were friendly and made me feel good.
Seats were pretty good, price was very good, especially for a Division 1 school.
