Had a blast! Never disappointed whenever I see GC & Parliament/Funkadelic. Had never been to this venue before, so I must say that I was not pleased with the tight fit of the floor seating. The seats were too close together.
This is truly a P-Funk family affair. Love and kudos to GC for including several young family members on his tour! Not many classic P-Funk songs were performed. The audience was CRAZY-LIT when the classics were played; not much participation otherwise. He look great for his age. I support, but once is enough for me.
The Meritage Resort was a nice venue for the concert. The parking was not organized and we had to walk further away even though we had pre purchased tickets. The Gold Seats were comfortable and close to the stage. The food selection wasn’t great but very pricey ($20 for a hot dog)! Eat before you go. The music was amazing. The crowd was diverse and everyone enjoyed the group.
I went to George Clinton and the Parliment Funkadelics concert on Sunday night, which was incredible. The energy in the venue was electric, and the band put on an amazing show. One complaint I have is that the chairs are attached in each row and are not wide enough to fit a person, creating a should-to-shoulder crammed and extremely uncomfortable experience. I purchased a front-row seat with an excellent view of the band, thanks to security personnel who kept the area between the front row and stage clear of people without front-row tickets. Were it not for being seated like sardines in a can, this would have been a five-star rating!
The venue was great, easy to dance or sit comfortably. Crowd was mellow. The wine bar with outside seats was nice. George Clinton appeared frail but nonetheless put on a great show.
I'd heard about George Clinton for years, but had never seen him live, so had no idea what to expect. Wow, what a great surprise! Two hours of a high energy jam session with anywhere between 3 and 20 people on stage at the same time. I haven't seen that kind of pure joy in musicians for a long time. Real music played by real people, having a really, really good time.
When George Clinton came out on stage, I was so excited and ready to experience some old-school vibes. Unfortunately, this was not the case. I was very disappointed! I imagine due to his stage now occupied with younger performers our popular old school hits such as Flashlight and other popular songs have been updated. By time, I realized they were singing Flashlight the song was halfway over. I get old school bands must continue to create new music but please leave our old school hit songs along!!! However it was an honor seeing George Clinton.
That was the most awesome show I have ever seen at the Uptown KC. Thanks and many more Ole Guy ??????????
AWESOME!!! ALL NITE DANCE PARTY!!! I'm going to follow
