Vegas F1 is a Great Time
by JaySee on 3/27/24I had a great experience last year, at the 2023 vegas race. We bought resale and sat in a different location every day, and each had their own pros and cons. For Practice on Thursday (when the cars barely ran) we were in the sphere zone, right next to the chicane. Even though the cars did not run much, we had an awesome time. Food was included, and was great. It is a giant party around the sphere. We practiced changing tires in competition, saw live music and had a fun time. The fan zone was great. For our seats, we had a great view of turns 6, 7 and 8. We were about 2/3 up in SG5103 (i bought them resale for $225 a seat). I would highly recommend this location. SG6 and SG4 are also pretty good. Do not sit up at the very top. The last few rows are so high the lights block parts of your view of the track. Do not sit in SG3 or SG2, as there is a bridge that blocks some of your view. SG1 and SG8 are also inferior locations as you can only see the cars fly by (maybe a little of Turn 5 if you are in the right spot) but you will not see the sphere well or the chicane. For qualifying, we sat on the main straight across from the pits. We were in row 25 of section 108 (we paid $475 a seat resale). This was right in the middle and put us directly across from Alonso's garage. Sit high on the main straight in order to see over the fencing and engineer stations to see into the garages. Row 20 and up of 106-113 should give a good view into some of the teams garages (higher number sections will be across from the better teams). Food was great. Cars actually ran, so that was a plus too. For the race, we went to the Mclaren Vista party at Drai's night club. We had VIP tickets in a shared GA-hospitality area (we got these resale for $1150 each). The food was stellar, and it was bottomless alcohol as well. We got some free mclaren gear. The vegas raiders cheerleading team were there. They had a mclaren f1 race simulator where you could drive the vegas track. David Coulthard and some other former racers i did not know gave some in-race commentary on a stage nearby. I wish i could put up pictures. We were right across the street from Ceasars palace and the bellegio. We watched the cars race right down the fastest part of the strip and in front of the bellagio fountains, while eating filet mignon and sipping on champagne. I recommend this party and would consider doing it again. In all, we spent $3700 in total for two of us to sit in all three of the coolest locations (sphere zone, pits, and the strip). I would do that rather than paying for a 3-day ticket where you are stuck in the same spot each time.
