Florida Gators Women’s Basketball History
The University of Florida fielded its first women’s basketball team for the 1974–75 season and became permanent members of the Southeastern Conference. The Gators qualified for their first NCAA National Championship tournament in 1993 under head coach Carol Ross, who also led the team through two deep, back-to-back March Madness runs in 1997 and 1998. Former Florida assistant coach Kelly Rae Finley took over head coaching duties in 2021 and guided the Gators to their first NCAA tournament berth in six years later that season.

It was an awesome experience for my granddaughter and her friend. Tickets on my phone was super easy.
What a huge disappointment. I'm hoping they do a better job for the SEC Tournament. The venue decided to have all of the fans crammed into five sections on one side of the arena, so instead of comfortable seating close to the action if you didn't arrive for the 1st games you were sitting miles away from the action in a mostly empty arena. The food selection extremely limited. I went after work wanted to order something for dinner. Instead nachos and pretzels were the only choices. They also didn't have a table with game programs. With a four team event, it would have been nice to be able to find out who was playing. Instead when I was exiting early to actually find some dinner, I noticed they had a couple of team rosters stacked against the window sill, which is a great place to put them if you don't want anyone to find them. This was a really crappy job Jacksonville Sports Commission.
I took my 11-year-old daughter and her friend. We had a nice time. They both play basketball, and this was a great opportunity for them to see players at the college level.
Quick and easy ordering, easy will call pick up, great seats and amazing game!
A very exciting game. Too bad the Lady Gators lost in the last 20 seconds by one point!!
The Tennessee Lady Vols won big, and we got to see Pat Summitt.
