I took my 87 year old mother to the event and had no idea it would be an all day event. We thought it was only exotic animals that raced. By the time 3pm rolled around, we had only seen the camel race and about 3 or 4 horse races. We came to see the exotic animals not the horses. You can see them anytime. We were very disappointed that we couldn't stay for the ostrichs and zebras.
Sunday racing at FG was disappointing. Seems as though Churchill is not committed to making the FG a first class track anymore. Very few people in Clubhouse and few employees. Bathrooms were not working, which was a big inconvenience. Used to like coming here, but the recent experience was not good. A shame.
The Fairgrounds facility and staff were excellent. Beautiful atmosphere and organized racing operation. However, the food and beverage experience was very poor. There was no water that day so no water, tea or coffee available. The food quality was good but served cold and many errors occurred. We got food and beverages that we didn’t order and duplicates of things we did order. I am sure this was an expensive loss for the business. (It was 20 in my party)
We enjoyed the races, but I wish I didn't have to deal with Ticketmaster.
In clubhouse doing food great service sa lil slow but all in all great time.

Fun day with the family but the food was below average in the clubhouse. The menu is limited, which is fine if the offerings are good. This was not the case.
I have been to racetracks all over the country. None surpas the Fairgrounds. Not a bad seat in the house. Good bars and food.
Loved the Louisiana Derby at the Fairgrounds. Track grounds good (no breakdowns), grandstands small making it easy to see walking ring, tunnel & all the stars (equine & human), store had nice shirts, big screen in front of tote very visible. Best track experience outside of BC.
