There are DJs, and then there is Dimitri Vegas. One-half of the brother duo Dimitri Vegas & Like Mike (legends on the EDM and house music circuit) almost no one knows how to fill a dance floor — and keep it popping for hours — quite like he does.

Born in Belgium to Greek parents, Dimitri Thivaios grew up in the Flemish town of Willebroek. He first learned about dance music from kids on a summer camping trip when he was just 13 years old. He showed his true colors early, scoring DJ gigs first in basements and then at local nightclubs before he could legally drink. But Belgium couldn't hold him in its orbit for long: By 1999, when he was just 17, Dimitri left school and found work abroad entertaining hotel guests by day and honing his DJ chops by night.

He and his brother settled in Ibiza in 2003. Soon Dimitri was a resident DJ at major clubs, concentrating on crafting floor-filling nights for the dance music capital's expectant crowds. But it wasn't until 2006 that he and Mike ventured into the world of music production themselves, testing the waters with the single "La Cocaina (Eivissa 2007)." That production, a progressive house number, worked well enough to encourage them to keep at it. They eventually moved back to Belgium and kept making songs. In 2008 the influential American house DJ Roger Sanchez picked up "Love Can't Turn Around," but their big break came in 2009 when the Swedish DJ Axwell asked them for a remix of "Leave the World Behind." That track, and a residency at a Belgian club, helped draw attention from the promoters of a little festival called Tomorrowland. The relationship has evolved over the years; the Belgian festival has grown into a massive annual gathering for EDM obsessives around the globe with Dimitri and Mike at its core.

The two brothers now craft EDM tracks with the cream of the crop: They've worked with Ne-Yo ("Higher Place"), Snoop Dogg ("Bounce") and Wiz Khalifa ("When I Grow Up"). And the duo have been staggering under the slew of awards and nominations thrown their way. They were named Top DJ by DJ Magazine in 2015, won International Dance Music Awards from 2013 through 2016, as well as NRJ Music and MTV Europe Music Awards. In 2017 and 2018, the duo brought Tomorrowland to Ibiza with mind-blowing residencies that have given lucky club-goers the experience of a lifetime. Dancers, get to it.
