Comedic Genius
by Yaa Asantewaa on 10/3/24I’ve seen Dave Chappelle a couple times and he’s the only comedian I’ve seen who has original work every time. Master storyteller, our generation’s Oscar Wilde. Will see Dave every time he performs.

Dave Chappelle Live Performance and Tour
Dave Chappelle, mastermind behind sketch comedy goldmine Chappelle's Show, made a triumphant return to stand-up comedy in 2013. While he's beloved for his famous impersonations of Rick James and Prince, Chappelle doesn't rely on old material for his stand-up act, treating fans to an all-original show featuring extensive improvisation as he interacts with audiences. At his 2013 performances on The Oddball Comedy & Curiosity Festival, which he co-headlined with Flight of the Conchords, Chappelle had fans rolling on the floor, building anticipation for his highly coveted 2014 tour dates.
BACKGROUND SNAPSHOT
Born David Khari Webber Chappelle in Washington, D.C., Dave Chappelle studied theatre arts in high school before moving to New York City to pursue standup comedy. Despite getting booed off stage at the Apollo Theater's infamous "Amateur Night," he remained resilient, going on to make a name for himself on the New York comedy circuit. Following several successful film appearances in the '90s, including a starring role in 1998 cult classic Half Baked, Chappelle debuted his namesake sketch comedy show on Comedy Central in 2003, finding both critical and commercial success. In 2006 he released Dave Chappelle's Block Party, a concert film set in Brooklyn featuring performances by Kanye West, The Roots, and a temporarily-reunited Fugees.

Great show! if you are easily offended may not be for you but i loved it! He’s right
I saw “David’ September 2023 for my birthday in Louisiana. I live in Maryland. He “spoke” to me for the entire show. David understood that there were attendees who waited years to see him live and that he was therefore an integral part of our dreams. He delivered as expected and allowed his audience to see him while grieving and witness his commitment to his craft. Thanks!
Saw Dave's show at his club in Yellow Springs Ohio on 9/11. He had Bobby Lee, Andrew Santino, Donnell Rawlings, and Marshall Brandon with him. What a show! They are doing "sound check series"to fine tune his new club and it is going to be fabulous. By the end of the night my abdomen and jaw were aching from laughing so hard and so often. The club is close to bringing their restaurant on line and liquor from what I am told. If you get a chance to go, done hesitate. It was our third time there and we have been amazed every time. Getting to see one of, if not the greatest comedian of all time in such an intimate setting is incredible! Thanks Dave!!!
I've seen Dave several times and it's been a fantastic experience each time regardless of the format. If it's an arena show or a special, expect a very punchy 1-2 hrs of laughs; but if you're fortunate enough to catch a club-type show, it could be 3+ hours of laughs and comedic freestyling. Sometimes, he'll even ask for questions from the crowd and is happy to share some amazing stories from his experiences with other comedians, and he still finds ways to work in laughs and callbacks from his set. Truly the best there is.
Dave Chappelle did a 4 hour set ! One of the best shows I have been to in a long time.
It was my first time ever seeing Chappelle live. He's still the goat, it was a great show, and Mo was good as well. If you ever get a chance to see him live, it's worth the money.
Dave Chappelle what can I say, he brought it. I was laughing so hard that I was crying. I have been trying to get tickets for years. I will definitely come again when he comes to Htown.
Dave Chappelle did not disappoint! What made it so much better was the small intimate venue. Highly recommend.
Punch Line is a fantastic venue and Dave did not disappoint. It is fantastic that Houston has a small venue for comics to perform and I highly recommend checking out the venue.
