Pop group Cub Sport, formerly known as Tim Nelson & the Cub Scouts, was formed in 2007 in Brisbane, Australia. Cub Sport launched onto the global stage with a slate of synth-pop EPs, followed by five full-length albums. The band's fourth studio album, 2020's Like Nirvana, was described by NME as their "most stunning LP yet," while Rolling Stone Australia praised Tim Nelson (vocals and piano) as "one of this generation's most gifted songwriters." The band is known for combining euphoric electropop melodies with personal lyrics, including the ups and downs of queer romance and relationships.

When beginning as Tim Nelson & the Cub Scouts, the band consisted of six members: vocalist and pianist Tim Nelson, drummer Dan Puusaari, keyboard player and vocalist Sam "Bolan" Netterfield, bassist and vocalist Zoe Davis, glockenspiel player and vocalist Bek Stoodley, and guitarist Andrew Williams. Stoodley left the group in 2011 and guitarist Andrew Williams departed in 2014. Nelson and Netterfield have been married since 2018.
