BACKGROUND SNAPSHOT:
Raised in the Minneapolis area, Craig Finn has carried the sounds and stories of his hometown with him everywhere he’s gone. Forming his first band Lifter Puller in 1994, he began developing interrelated narratives involving common characters in his songs based on several of his acquaintances and most vivid Twin Cities memories. After the dissolution of Lifter Puller, he relocated to Brooklyn in 2004 and co-founded classic rock revival outfit The Hold Steady. While on a five-month break from the band in 2012, the rocker-poet recorded his debut solo record Clear Heart Full Eyes, which received widespread critical acclaim. Though it features a whole new cast of characters and more of a country sound than his work with The Hold Steady, Clear Heart Full Eyes is still purely Finn.
