Game was lit BUT Communication to fans needs to be improved
by T. M. on 6/9/21Empower Field At Mile High - DenverDenver as the venue for the CONCACAF Nations league semifinals and final was great! However, the one bad part to the whole experience was the difficulty in understanding the Mile High Stadium public address announcer. In fact, the overall communication of what was happening on the field -- substitutions, goal scorers, remaining time, etc. -- to the stadium fans was very poor. While the PA announcer was fluent in Spanish, his English and pronunciation of American names was sorely lacking. (He wrongly pronounced US and Colorado Rapids player Kellyn Acosta's name -- in Denver, where Kellyn plays!) The one message board transcribing his words consistently read "Speaking foreign language", even when he was trying to speak English. On top of all this, for the 3rd place game, all announcements were made in Spanish -- no English at all. I understand it was a game between Honduras and Costa Rica, but there many paying Americans in the stands and the game was in Denver!
