The program was excellent. Very enjoyable. But why the introduction regarding indigenous people and the land we are on? C’mon already.
Except for the metallic sound in the speakers this was amazing
The two singers were wonderful. I just wish there had been more singing. From our previous experience (Barber of Seville), there was about equal time between lecture (with some audience participation) and singing. This time, there was mainly a lecture, with too much detail—date of birth, name of spouse, etc —about Shakespeare, the composer and librettist. Seemed like a college class. Otherwise the speaker was an excellent singer.
These programs are absolute gems!! I'm afraid to say how good they are because too many people will find out about it and make it harder to get tickets (seats). Seriously, you don't have to be an opera fan to enjoy the presentations. And if you are not, you will become one.
First time attending an event at Kerr. I wish I had done it earlier. Everyone attending was so friendly and the ambiance of the venue was so comforting. I will be back.
Very well done presentation, lots of interesting information about the upcoming opera. The aria performances were terrific!
Excellent except last week Romeo and Juliette. Expected more music and less talk. Everyone around me was disappointed. I heard people say the speaker should know the audience and the information was representative. I heard people say we knew this information.
Every aspect of the opera was presented and two amazing arias were performed.
Great event! Nice historical information about period, opera, composer and terminology.
