Excellent show if you haven’t seen GOBLIN you’re missing out!
This was a first time I have attended an event of this kind (movie with live band). It was a pretty fun way to take in the movie and see a great band playing at the same time. The band members are all highly skilled and entertaining. It appeared they were all having fun performing and the show went on quite a bit after the movie ended with Goblin continuing on with several more songs.
So much care and craft was put into Goblin’s performance. The intimate nature of Simonettis sparse commentary and the band’s precise and reverent execution of one of my favorite of his soundtracks exceeded my expectations. Excellent sound quality in the theater. Great, dedicated backing band performed as a tight unit, obviously a close caring band despite their age differences. Clearly not just a bunch of tour musicians thrown together. I loved this so much. I want everyone to see it.
Seeing Goblin live was a dream come true. Playing the score to Susperia live was incredible. If they come around again im there.
Claudio Simonetti's Goblin - Suspiria Live and old school set was flawless for what it was. The band performed perfectly and brought the many classic horror movie soundtracks to life in a cozy theater.
Appreciated being able to see Goblin locally. Previously saw the group on the Cruise to the Edge earlier this year and enjoyed them. Great show and musicianship.
Being able to watch Deep Red while it was being live scored was a whole new way to appreciate both the film and the music. This was the last date on the tour, but the band was still energetic, still completely on point for every note. Since it was the last date, I'll talk a little about the content as I won't be spoiling anything for anyone. After the film, the band then played a few songs off the new album, (which is quite good by the way) as well as some recognizable Goblin tunes such as Tenebre, Phenomena, and of course, Suspiria. They then came out and met with fans, which was pretty fantastic of them. I never expect anyone to do that as touring is obviously hard work, and everyone is tired, especially the last gig of the tour, but they came out and were very friendly and gracious and I, as well as many others, appreciated it. Mr. Simonetti has put together a fantastic group of musicians for this incarnation of Goblin. I will certainly see them when they come around again.
We all said it that night that we always want to watch a movie and hear the score live! Great night , great band!
