About Cincinnati Cyclones
Cincinnati Cyclones at Heritage Bank Center
The ECHL's Cincinnati Cyclones play home games on the riverbank of Cincinnati's downtown. Accessible from both the Daniel Carter Beard and Taylor Southgate bridges, the Heritage Bank Center sports complex sits along the same drag as Great American Ball Park and Paul Brown Stadium, where the Cincinnati Reds (MLB) and Cincinnati Bengals (NFL) play, respectively. As the winter months approach each year, the Cyclones are a hot ticket, hosting one of the 25 other teams in the ECHL in the nearly 18,000-person arena.
Coach Matt Thomas' Cyclones team is always primed for competitive match-ups, with 14 straight winning seasons from 2006 to 2020. The team is the affiliate of the NHL's Buffalo Sabres, with the 2020 squad led by veteran sharpshooter Jesse Schultz and captain Justin Vaive. If there's a signature to Cyclones games, it's the team's mascot, Twister, who checks in at "202 pounds of windblown muscle" and slides across the ice on his head during intermissions. And if you're feeling ambitious, Cyclones games are also known for the infamous "Beeramids," stacks of empty beer cans along the corners of the glass that grow as the game goes along (21+ fans only).
Cincinnati Cyclones History
While the Cincinnati Cyclones franchise bounced between ECHL and IHL in their early years, the current iteration of the team joined the ECHL in 2001 and won Kelly Cups in 2008 and 2010. The Cyclones are an affiliate of the NHL's Buffalo Sabres, but have also been affiliated in the past with the Montreal Canadiens, Nashville Predators and Anaheim Ducks. The Canadiens era yielded perhaps the greatest Cyclone player of all time in David Desharnais, who before an illustrious career in Montreal, won the league MVP, Rookie of the Year and scoring titles en route to leading the Cyclones to the 2008 championship. In addition to their Kelly Cups, the Cyclones have won multiple conference championships and division crowns. The historic 2007-2008 team earned the record for the most successful ECHL season of all time, with 55 wins and 115 points.

The staff were super nice from entry to concessions, the seats seemed to be great no matter where you sat, though we had really good seats for my very first hockey game. It was interactive everyone was polite and pleasant. It was an overall good time! However, the bathrooms need a major update!! The sinks alone could benefit from an update to allow for hot water to make even that much of an improvement. The stalls were not kept up with at all, making it almost more desireable to just wait to go somewhere else. The push button faucet doesn't feel very sanitary in the age of covid, sorry. Other than that it was a great time!
I just question the insurance they sell you on your tickets. Is it really a good thing or not ?
Staff was friendly and helpful, as always...even when they mopped up a drink one of my kids spilled. Very entertaining and the crowd work and mascots throughout keep the kids extra engaged, even if they have no idea what is happening on the ice :)
If you have not been to a cyclones game I feel bad for you this is the best thing possibly ever to do come out root for the cyclones the energy in the building is incredible it’s the best thing ever I feel
Family and I attended our first Cyclones game in January of this year and became life long fans. The prices are very affordable, the team fun to watch and they really keep the crowd engaged. I can’t wait for the new season!
Fun time, they work to engage the crowd. Seats at us bank are a little close to each other but that's to be expected.
Overall you get what you pay for. US Bank arena definitely needs some upgrades. Seats were okay priced for where we were. Scoreboard is very dated with its pixels and couldn't make out half of what was being displayed. Hopefully they do something to change the overall appearance of the arena since there are a lot of things that go on in that building.
The Fan appreciation night at US Bank Arena for the Cincinnati Cyclones was fun. I would recommend coming to a Cyclone game.
Took the family to our first Cyclones game and we had a BLAST! Fun and energetic environment. Definitely going again.
The atmosphere was great. This was our first game and it couldn’t have been a better experience!!!
I will go all the time the games are a blast for all people. All ages
Long lines, slow employees, closed vending areas, cold food. However the beer was cold.
Cyclones games have always been fun! Hockey has always been fun to watch, but the Cyclones are super good at hockey and the event team makes the games very interactive and fun. They have a Lion King cam which is super unique. The concessions were okay, but these games are a great way to have fun at a great price.
Was our first hockey and my son and I had a blast.
Awesome atmosphere, super affordable and awesome seats! Everyone was so kind and helpful in the entire stadium.
I thoroughly enjoyed the cyclones games and will definitely be returning again! The game was so exciting, and so was the fanfare surrounding it! I also adore my free Puckchop! My only complaint would be that the announcers were a little difficult to hear.
Excellent venue, , inexpensive ticket, cheap (one dollar) beer and an entertaining product. This minor league professional hockey is entertainment money well spent.
It was awesome. I love Cyclones hockey and I actively try to get other people to go too.
My wife and I had a great time at our first Cyclones game.
