BUN B IN CONCERT:
Southern rap hero Bun B has been spitting the illest tracks since the late ‘80s, and he continues be a formidable presence more than two decades later. A seasoned veteran and former member of the duo UGK, Bun B pulls out all the stops during his live shows – with over 30 years of performing under his belt, he’s become a legend in the hip-hop community with his familiar swagger and catchy tracks like “That’s Gangsta.” He returns to the stage for The Trillest Tour, featuring rap’s latest up-and-comers Kirko Bangz and Termanology.
BACKGROUND SNAPSHOT:
Houston-based rapper Bun B got his start in the '80s as one half of the duo UGK, performing with fellow Southern hip-hop artist Pimp C.? UGK had several hits during their four-album span, earning heavy radio rotation with their track “Pocket Full of Stones.” After the duo parted ways, Bun B began his solo career in 2005 with the release of his mixtape Legends, but it wasn’t until his chart-topping debut Trill dropped later that year that he earned himself a heavy cult following. Since then, he’s had a successful run with three follow-up records in the Trill series, collaborating with some of hip-hop’s greatest acts including Rick Ross, Lil Wayne, and Sean Kingston. In addition to his rapping talents, he’s also a Distinguished Lecturer at Rice University and an accomplished actor, appearing in the films Ghetto Stories and Something From Nothing: The Art of Rap. Bun B returns to his hip-hop roots as he heads out on The Trillest Tour, introducing new rappers Kirko Bangz and Termanology as his opening acts.
