Buffalo Sabres History
The Sabres joined the NHL in the 1970 expansion, and just two years later embarked on a streak that saw them reach the playoffs in 12 of the next 13 seasons. Leading the way were "The French Connection" line of Hall of Fame center Gilbert Perreault, left-wing Rick Martin, and right-wing René Robert. The Quebec-born trio was together in Buffalo from 1972 through 1979. Aided by Craig Ramsay, the Sabres and their French Connection advanced to the 1975 Stanley Cup Final in? their fifth season, though they fell in six games to the Philadelphia Flyers.
In the following 10 seasons, all of which resulted in playoff berths, the Sabres captured two division titles. Fueled by defenseman (and former U.S. Olympic star) Mike Ramsey, the Sabres made nine playoff appearances between the 1981–1982 and 1991–1992 seasons. Later, during goaltender Dominik Hasek's nine seasons, the Sabres continued to be a consistent playoff team. In 1999, they dispatched the Ottawa Senators, Boston Bruins and Toronto Maple Leafs in the playoffs to again reach the Stanley Cup Finals, where they fell to the Dallas Stars in six games.
In 2006 and 2007 the Sabres made it as far as the conference finals before succumbing to the Carolina Hurricanes and Ottawa Senators, respectively. To date, the Sabres have been in the playoffs 29 times, winning six divisional championships and three conference titles.

Great fan experience! Friendly, efficient staff, clean venue. The game was exciting and it was a fun atmosphere, with Sabretooth even up in the 300s!
The Leaf game was so much fun. Seat was epic and the arena staff were great
phenomenal experience!! Thank you Buffalo for hosting this game, it was a Leaf fan perfect game. Mathews scored 60! That being said, the Buffalo community was amazing, great spots to have supper and loved walking the waterfront. Hope to come back next year if you will have us!!
Awesome game because The Leafs won and Matthews scored his 60th
The Leaf atmosphere in Buffalo is a hundred times better than the Scotiabank. Too bad the Leafs can't play their home games there. Get rid of all those corporate season ticket holders and make tickets accessible to the real fans
We really enjoyed what amounted to an extra Leafs home game with affordable prices. I have to commend the Sabres fans for taking the takeover of their stadium with very good cheer and hospitality. I love their stadium and their entertainment a lot more than I do Toronto games.
Amazing seats , great venue , food and drink options galore .
The whole process from buying tkts to transferring to frnd to getting entry to the arena all was smooth. Nice experience!
The venue has a lot to offer and knows how to entertain a crowd! I had a great time and the Sabres did great that night winning 4-0 against the Islanders!
Ticketmaster made this a headache free experience. Great seats and easy upload of the tickets, for even a non-techie guy like me.
Everything from parking, to the game play, intermission events and food was amazing. Its great to see the fans being energetic.
Great game, great experience. Music a bit too loud. Band was great. Entry was quick. Lots of variety of food. 12:30 Sat game a nice change.
You would think that the food and drinks would be better priced. 2 bottles of pop and 1 soft pretzel and it cost almost 20 dollars! I know you have to make a profit but that’s gouging! I would think if you lowered your prices the more product you will sell. Over 6 dollars for a bottle of soda. Just greedy!
Was a great time at the game as we had some free time. Enjoyed seeing the Oilers play, beers… Way to expensive though.
As an avid and experienced sports fan, I don’t think I’ve ever been to a game and left thinking wow, that was underwhelming. And it had nothing to do with the play on the ice. Overall, from the gates opening and waiting to head in, you would think the arena would bring a great atmosphere. But warm-up featured live music that had an opportunity to bring excitement but lacked entertainment. Once the puck dropped, if you were there for fan experience or off-puck excitement, you’d have to wait for an intermission tired roll competition that ends just as quickly as it started. Thank goodness the game was somewhat thrilling at the end, or I’d be disappointed to have driven so far. Outside of the arena is cool, and the concourse seemed neat. I probably won’t make my way back to Buffalo again.
We had a great time- didn’t have any issues at all having a great time supporting the other team. Food was ridiculously overpriced- but it’s like that everywhere.
This was my first time coming to a Sabers game. It was very straightforward on how to enter the arena and get around. The bathrooms were clean and there were a lot of food options. The seats were great too. I can't wait to go back.
Once I selected seats, the ordering and obtaining tickets was a breeze. Only issue was if seat selection order process was not completed in a short allotted time, you loose the seats and they are no longer available. It happened a few times. I doubt the seats were taken each time the ordering system timed me out. Be sure you have all info needed like CC info, password, etc. b4 seat selection,.
Not huge hockey fans but we were treating a hockey fan friend to a birthday trip to Buffalo centred around a trip to the new AKG gallery and this game. Tix were certainly more affordable than Leafs tickets and we had amazing seats. Concessions at Key Bank Centre were more interesting than Scotiabank Arena (though just as overpriced). The game itself was everything you would hope for: tight play and only two answered goals so it was tied at the end of 3. Then OT went scoreless. Then first round shootouts went scoreless. Second round sudden death Buffalo scored and then Luuuuuuuuk saved Carolina's answer opportunity so our temporary home team came out victorious!
The venue is average to above average. Seats a little small but not a bad seat in the place. Unfortunately the hockey is below average, but nothing Ticketmaster can do about that issue.
