BRUNO MARS IN CONCERT
Classic showmanship in the vein of James Brown and Michael Jackson is alive and well, and Bruno Mars is here to prove it. Mars takes the stage with The Hooligans, a tightly choreographed nine-piece soul band that serves as the perfect representation of his commitment to the live experience – a commitment that led to his selection as the halftime performer at Super Bowl XLVIII. A classic song-and-dance man and multi-platinum selling pop star, Mars references everyone from Prince to The Police in both his image and sound, but the result is more than mere imitation; as a songwriter and producer, he has successfully combined the sounds of his pop idols with reggae and hip hop to create a new generation of genre-crossing hits. In anticipation of his Super Bowl performance, fans can get tickets to catch Bruno Mars in concert on 2013’s Moonshine Jungle Tour.
BRUNO MARS BACKGROUND
Mars was born and raised in Honolulu, Hawaii, where he gained his first exposure to music playing rock and Motown covers in his family’s band, The Love Notes. By age five, the Elvis Presley impersonations he performed with the band had gained him a reputation on the island and landed him a cameo in the 1992 film Honeymoon in Vegas. After high school, Mars moved to Los Angeles to pursue music, finding initial success as a member of The Smeezingtons, the writing and production team behind Flo Rida’s 2009 hit “Right Round.” His first success as a solo artist came in 2010 with “Nothing On You,” a collaboration with rapper B.o.B. that peaked at No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 and earned the duo several Grammy nominations. Mars’ debut album, 2010’s Doo-Wops & Hooligans, landed at No. 3 on the Billboard 200 and contained two worldwide No. 1 ?hits with “Grenade” and feel-good ballad “Just The Way You Are,” which nabbed him his first Grammy (Best Male Pop Vocal Performance). Sophomore album Unorthodox Jukebox (2012) was an even bigger success, peaking at No. 1 ?on the Billboard 200 and spawning the ubiquitous hits “Locked Out of Heaven” and “When I Was Your Man.”

If you want to go hear his classics, don't spend the money.. he didn't play them.. he played 24 karat but he played it to a new sound. The funk sound is gone. I think he's trying to reinvent himself with a new sound. Sadly disappointed but it's knocked off my bucket list. Especially with pyrotechnics. Still love his old stuff though The sound was extremely loud.
Absolutely love seeing Bruno Mars! The shows are always awesome and I've traveled by plane to see him 5 or 6 times, maybe more, I've lost count! However plane travel has become too difficult due to medical issues. I am hoping and Praying he will do some shows on the East Coast, like one of the Casinos in Connecticut??? ?????
Let me start by saying Mr, Mars is mind blowing, his songs are perfection! We sat in section 203 row K dead center to stage. I didn't mind so much that he wasn't on the stage till 9:30. The show started off a little slow, he seemed a bit not ready. It took about three songs and finally his wonderful dancing and magical voice came out along with his crew, the songs were done so well. The reason I did 3 stars is for the excessive bass that was added, it moved my clothing on my body, the shockwave made me nauseated, I had to sit and cover my ears and just watch the big screen. Sadly you couldn't hear any of the performers, what a waste. This bass was used 4 times throughout the show. I really hope his audio team reads this review, because they are failing him and his fans. It wasn't until after his small break, he came out and did some piano time, it saved the show, he was absolutely wonderful, I was moved to tears, his voice was spectacular. He sang the song he wrote for his beloved mother, so moving. The rest of the show seemed to ignite his passion for performing and he and his crew were at the top of their game. I truly feel blessed to have seen him perform.
Bruno is such a great singer & dancer. Super talented musician. We love and enjoy the show so much.
My first time seeing Bruno live and what a fabulous concert it was! Most of his songs with incredible light show…what a showman. The whole Vegas Dolby was on its feet and the finale with Lady Gaga in their new duo. I would definitely shake the piggy bank to see him again
Bruno was spectacular, as expected. The venue is ambitious but truly disappointing. I had expectation of the Chase Center in San Francisco, this was not the case. The technology was overreaching and there the community is not ready for a 100% tech solution. The bathrooms were too small and did not accommodate the demand. The wayfinding signage was HORRIBLE. Navigating the interior was difficult and confusing. This had nothing to do with the tech, the design is poor. The food was disappointing. I won't be rushing to get back there. The set up for the ride share pick up with the cross traffic of the buses was POOR. It delayed access for the car pick up, this needs to be redesigned to eliminate the bus vs car vs ped conflict.
Saw Bruno at the opening night of the Intuit Dome and although there were many technical difficulties with entrance and the show starting later than expected, Bruno put on a show! It was everything I imagined and more. Bruno was an amazing perfomer with his choreography and awesome vocals! Each song was sang loudly by the fans, me included, and everyone had a smile on their face. I was seated in the nosebleeds but that didn't stop me from being able to hear his voice and his playful personality. The show was full of pure nostalgia. I would go again if i could.
bruno mars is an amazing performer and this is a concert everyone needs to go see
I went to the Intuit Dome show on Aug 16. I went with both my parents and my family friends, we just happened to get the same day and watch the show! I’ve been a Bruno Mars fan for so long, since I was a kid basically. My mom also is a big fan of him so i’m really glad that we got the opportunity to see Bruno Mars. 24K setlist has always been my favorite. I hope he’ll come back to LA again, I want to see him again. He’s such a great performer, from the vocals and dance skills. It was such an amazing experience. My dad is a casual listener but he really enjoyed his time at the concert. Even if you’re just a casual singer or a big fan, I highly recommend watching Bruno Mars, he’s honestly such a gem in the music industry and keeps it alive.
