BIRDY IN CONCERT:
British songstress Birdy has been delighting audiences with her humble persona and catchy cover songs ever since making her debut in 2011. Although new to the pop scene, she possesses the impressive piano chops of a seasoned performer, delighting fans with beautiful renditions of Bon Iver's signature tune "Skinny Love" and James Taylor's classic "Fire and Rain," to name a few. Birdy is a dynamic young artist whose rich voice has transcended the bounds of the traditional singer-songwriter genre, and she'll treat ticket buyers to a number of new tracks alongside her famous covers as she warms up the stage for Christina Perri. ?
BACKGROUND SNAPSHOT:
Born Jasmine van den Bogaerde, the piano prodigy attracted mainstream success at just 12 years old when she performed under her nickname Birdy and won the 2008 Open Mic UK contest. Three years later, she performed a stripped-down version of Bon Iver's tune "Skinny Love" on YouTube, racking up more than 60 million views and launching to stardom overnight. Her 2011 eponymous debut followed, which topped charts in three countries and garnered serious praise from music blogs and magazines. Since then, she's collaborated with fellow English folk band Mumford & Sons, performed at countless music festivals, and released her acclaimed 2013 sophomore LP Fire Within. Birdy will continue to soar to new heights as she supports Christina Perri on the Head or Heart tour.

The setlist was a perfect blend of her classic hits and new material, keeping the crowd engaged and entertained throughout the entire show. Birdy's talent and genuine passion for music shone brightly, leaving everyone in awe. I can't wait for the next opportunity to see her live!

She has an amazing stage presence and an angelic voice, and the vibes of the crowd were great. I really hope to see her again soon.

I didn't have the best experience at the venue though, so that's why I'm giving it 3 stars. The space was small and the staff didn't seem organized. People who got general admission tickets were left out in the rain for over 1 hour and 20 minutes, even though it said that the event started at 6:30pm and doors would open an hour before that, so 5:30pm. I arrived at 5:45 and got in at 6:55. The opening act started at 7:30pm, so the event starting at 6:30pm wasn't accurate at all. Don't know if I would go see any other artist in that space again.

Her voice, often described as angelic, was even more enchanting in person. The entire show was a testament to her incredible talent, and I left the concert with a heart full of appreciation for her music. I cant wait back to experience it ale over again.

The venue (Irving Plaza) was too packed - they either oversold tickets or the place was too small. I could hardly see the stage or move. In future, please perform in a larger concert hall or responsibly cap ticket sales to make it a better concert experience.

If only the floor was slightly declined so people who are shorter in the back could still see. But no matter where you are you can still hear, everything sounds great, vocals were super crisp!! I wish in the screen they would show the band and Birdy preforming more instead of just lights or a video clip repeating.
