They didn’t pass out water so several people around us were getting overheated. The doors were supposed to open at 7 but they didn’t. The artist didn’t come out until 9:40 even though the doors opened at 7 which is insane.
This was my first experience with SXSW. And I must say I was impressed with the whole experience. and the artist performance I only recently discovered. Christian Nodal and was willing to drive 4 hours to attend this concert at the Moody Amphitheater. Nodal was amazing although he has been around for a few years he is clearly on his rise to the top as an artist. I had a great time! and I look forward to attending another concert St SXSW in the future and hopefully another Christian Nodal concert. My only complaint is because it was general admission standing (my choice) I wasn't able to move thankfully I didn't drink anything because it would be difficult to move to go to the bathroom until the concert was over and then all the concessions where closed, so I went hours without water the UBER was cancelled many times. so, it wasn't until 2 hours after the show when I got back to my hotel room was I able to drink water. Maybe in the future there is at least one concession open to sell water. otherwise, a great experience overall.
I’ve never attended any sxsw events but when my favorite DJ (illenium) was going to perform I knew I had to be there. No crazy lines to get in, the venue had tons of space and the promoters were super friendly. Was able to get free pit wristbands!! Only con was that their bartenders weren’t super experienced, I asked for a lemonade vodka drink and it tasted like water. Other than that I had a great time, will definitely be attending more sxsw events in the future.
One of the best electronic shows I have ever seen! The venue spectacular. The sound and light show was top-notch and the crowd was smiling the entire time. Great show!
The show itself was good, but we missed part of it because the venue took 2hr15min to get us in the door. We were in line at doors open and the venue capacity is only ~4000, so this basically amounts to logistical negligence.

The food was SO expensive - simple food and modest drinks for 2 was over $100. But other than that, WOW was everything perfect! The staff was all professional and friendly, if you joke with them they joke back, which I like. Shoutout to the two Pauls and their young companion. Security was orderly, and lines moved quickly. There was no running, no unnecessary crowd chaos, no overserving, or any issues that I personally witnessed. The best part of all? The pleasant, friendly humanity of the staff and the unexpected generosity we experienced. Let me explain. My brother and I arrived several hours early and ended up 2nd in line. We were quick through security and ended up front and center in general admission. We were THRILLED. We had made very sure to avoid getting stressed or worried about timing, and just enjoy whatever we get. As a result, we were in great moods despite weird parking, sitting in line, and the natural logistical stress of security. All of which were relatively smooth, but have the possibility of souring your mood anyway if you're impatient or stressed. Despite it all, we were vibing. Which meant that, once we found our spot and saw an employee that was dancing slightly, my brother and I both started cheering them on and dancing along. They thought this was so funny and friendly that they came over and upgraded us to the pit just for being nice and for contributing to the party atmosphere. After that, we were front and center of the pit! Best spot in the whole place! Truly unexpected kindness. It's lovely when you're having a good time, just trying to bring others joy, and you happen to be rewarded for it. The show was EXCELLENT and getting the honor of such an excellent spot made it all the more enjoyable. It was truly an amazing experience, and the venue is largely what made it so great.
This was such an incredible show. The venue is on a hill so no matter where you are, you can see. It was not oversold, lots of vendors so lines weren’t terrible. Security was tight (even saw snipers on the roof across the street) The show itself was incredible. Illenium and Fairlane crushed it. Couldn’t be more happy.
Christian Nodal was awesome live. First time seeing him and can’t wait to see more concerts like this in the future.
