Ax and the Hatchetmen is a seven-piece Chicago-based indie rock band comprised of Axel Ellis (Vocals/Guitar), Kenny Olzewski, (vocals/guitar), Sal Defilippis (vocals/guitar), Hunter Olshefke (vocals/bass), Nick Deputy (drums), Phil Pistone (trumpet) and Quinn Dolan (saxophone). Their innovative music gives a wall of sound created by harmonies of the three guitars, the depth of the bass, and the floating melodies of the horn and sax. Lyrics that really tell a story, coupled with the energy of Ellis and Olzewski’s vocals, make them incredible on headphones and invigorating live. The group’s genre falls somewhere between indie rock, alternative, beach rock and jazz. Many of the members studied conservatory-style jazz in high school, and implemented those techniques and styles into their music with improv.

loved seeing them and specter jones ! they had an amazing stage presence and talked to fans after the show. super sweet humans, i wish i could’ve talked to all of them <3
Really good show, both Ax and the Hatchet men and the Runarounds were awesome!
I’ve listened to this band for a good year and half now. And I honestly did not expect them to sound so clean live because they’re so young, but I was wrong. They have amazing stage presence and just such a fun continuous energy. The openers didn’t disappoint either. Next time they’re in town I’ll be there!
Lowkey band I found through Spotify that every song became an instant hit for my playlist and in my friend group. Awesome sound and great use of instruments! Would definitely love to see them again! Also the merch is sick
the concert was genuinely incredible. me and my friends had such a fun time and the band just sounds amazing live. definitely worth seeing them and i would definitely go see ax and the hatchetmen again.
Such energy, charisma, rocking content... they have the sound that will propel them to high levels. I like their recorded stuff, but live? WOW!
Ax and the Hatchetmen is always a great time! Full of energy with a great mix of originals and awesome covers! They never disappoint!
Axe and the Hatchetmen had great energy and new Loved how upbeat and groovy their songs were. I also absolutely loved their opener at this location Nautics. An equally fantastic band. Amazing energy! An overall great show and experience. Would highly recommend everyone checks out bothbands!
